CALL FOR ENTRIES

Welcome to Raandesk's calls for entries for our Juried Exhibitions and selected submissions. Participation in any of our open calls to artists will not only bring attention to your artwork from the Raandesk Gallery but from our panels of art world jurors around the world who are museum curators, art professors, gallery owners, art collectors and established artists.  For each Juried Exhibition theme we choose the panel of reviewers with the most applicable background for reviewing your work.

We wish you luck with your entries!

Optical Annual Juried Exhibition 2010: Staged

Raandesk Gallery presents its 3rd Annual Optical Juried Competition, in which photographers from around the world are called upon to make online submissions for review by a panel of distinguished art-world experts, including museum or gallery professionals, collectors, and artists. Jurors vote on the photographs that best respond to the annual theme, such as Beauty in the Mundane (2009) and Photography Now (2008).

Raandesk encourages entries from photographers residing in any location regardless of experience or education in the field and encourages artists to interpret its annual themes as broadly as they wish. A group exhibition of the top five finalists will be held at Raandesk Gallery in 2011 and special recognition will be given to the "best in show" winner and runner-up at the opening reception. These top two finalists will also receive a stipend award and the opportunity for a future exhibition at Raandesk.

This year the Optical theme is Staged. The submission process for photographers ends August 27.

Winners are announced in November.

ART2Gift Submissions

In 2008, Raandesk Gallery launched a group of services and a collection of artwork that was specifically priced under $500. This ART2Gift Collection, affordable priced from $35 to $500 was accepted immediately by gift givers everywhere! Since then we have made a commitment to bringing new ART2Gift artworks into the collection each year in November for the annual ART2Gift Exhibition.

Because of the large amount of submissions we receive for ART2Gift from around the world we have compiled a team of reviewers this year (members of the art world and beyond) to review the work and make selections for this November's ART2Gift exhibition and the 2011 ART2Gift collection.

Criteria:

  • Artwork that is submitted must be available for sale for UNDER $500
  • Artwork can be paintings, drawings, photographs or mixed media
  • Artwork must be under 24" in size
  • If selected, work must be available and ready to hang (including framing if necessary) from November 2010 through May 2011 at a minimum
  • We recommend that you keep in mind that the ART2Gift collection is a collection promoted towards the general public for gift giving and for collecting small affordable artworks by more seasoned collectors
Good luck and we look forward to seeing your submissions!
